Mike Kerr, President

President Kerr moved to Arvada with his family in 1964. He is married and has two daughters and two grandchildren.

President Kerr is a retired Arvada volunteer fire fighter with 25 years of service. He worked my way up from firefighter to assistant chief. He is presently serving as a team leader with the Emergency Response Team at Adolph Coors Company and holds a State Hazardous Materials Technician Certification and is active on the Coors Haz-Mat Team. President Kerr served his country for six years in the United States Army.

This is President Kerr's second time serving the Arvada Fire Protection District. He served a 4-year term that ended in 2002. .

Vice President

Vice President Snyder moved to the Allendale area of Arvada in 1973 where he and his wife raised two daughters who graduated from Arvada West.

Vice President Snyder retired after 31 years as a Firefighter with the Denver Fire Department. He has been an active member of King of Glory Lutheran Church since 1975, serving in various positions. He has been the Medical coordinator for the 9 Health Fair in South Jefferson County, starting as a worker at a health fair at Peace Lutheran in the early 1990's. He currently works for Fire and Police Protective Association Insurance.

Vice President Snyder feel’s that with his background in the Fire Service, his ability to work well with people and his willingness to give back to a community that has given so much to me makes him a very qualified candidate for this position.

Debi Luft, Treasurer

Treasurer Luft has lived in Arvada for 26 years. She has two children who graduated from Arvada area high schools.


Treasurer Luft has been employed by the Adams and Jefferson County Hazardous Response Authority for the last six years.  She is an administrative assistant.  Her duties that include accounting, budgeting, purchasing, team planning, and work with the Board of Directors and has 25 years experience with accounting and bookkeeping.  In addition, she is employed by the E911 Board as an accountant.

The Luft family became involved in the Arvada Fire Protection District 16 years ago.  She is very excited about being a member of the Fire District Board and looks forward to working for the citizens of Arvada.

Mark Domenico, Secretary

Secretary Domenico has lived in Arvada since 1955.

Secretary Domenico has been married for 31 years, has four children, and three grandchildren. He retired as a volunteer from Arvada Fire Protection District with ten years service and has been a Firefighter/ Paramedic with West Metro Fire District for 9 years.

As a professional firefighter/paramedic and retired Arvada volunteer, Secretary Domenico’s experience provides a valuable perspective to help guide AFPD as it grows and develops to meet the needs of its citizens. This background will help continue the excellent diversity of the current board.

Doug Schneider,

Director

Director Schneider is a fourth generation native to Arvada. He and his wife of 31 years, Judy, have raised 3 daughters and have 6 grandchildren.

Director Schneider is a Captain with 19 years of service at the Cunningham Fire Protection District in unincorporated Arapahoe County and presently serving as the Training Officer. In 2005, he retired from the Arvada Fire Protection District after serving 20 years as a volunteer firefighter. He currently possesses State Certificates in Fire Officer III, Firefighter II, and Hazardous Materials at the Technician Level.

This is Director Schneider’s second time on the Arvada Fire Protection District’s Board of Directors. In 2004, he was not reelected due to term limitations.
