The Arvada Fire Protection District is proud to offer CPR classes. All of Arvada Fire’s instructors are certified through the American Safety & Health Institute (ASHI). In fact, we use ASHI to certify all of our firefighters in CPR. For more information including pricing and student number minimums, contact the Public Education office at 303-424-3012 or by email.
The subjects that are covered in this four hour class include:
- Respiratory and circulatory system
- Universal precautions and personal protective equipment
- Heart disease and stroke
- Emergency action steps
- Introduction to the Automatic External Defibrillator (AED)
- Foreign Body Airway Obstruction (choking)
- Psychological and emotional aspects of providing Basic Life Support (BLS)
- The legal aspects of providing Basic Life Support (BLS)
A few days after successful completion of the course, the CPR cards will be mailed to the students.
