Doug Schneider, President
President Schneider is a fourth generation native to Arvada. He and his wife of 31 years, Judy, have raised 3 daughters and have 6 grandchildren.
President Schneider is a Captain with 19 years of service at the Cunningham Fire Protection District in unincorporated Arapahoe County and presently serving as the Training Officer. In 2005, he retired from the Arvada Fire Protection District after serving 20 years as a volunteer firefighter. He currently possesses State Certificates in Fire Officer III, Firefighter II, and Hazardous Materials at the Technician Level.
This is President Schneider’s second time on the Arvada Fire Protection District’s Board of Directors. In 2004, he was not re-elected due to term limitations.
Mike Kerr, Vice-President
Vice President Kerr moved to Arvada with his family in 1964. He is married and has two daughters and two grandchildren.
Vice President Kerr is a retired Arvada volunteer fire fighter with 25 years of service. He worked his way up from firefighter to assistant chief. He is presently serving as a team leader with the Emergency Response Team at Adolph Coors Company and holds a State Hazardous Materials Technician Certification and is active on the Coors Haz-Mat Team. Secretary Kerr served his country for six years in the United States Army.
This is Vice President Kerr's second time serving the Arvada Fire Protection District. He served a 4-year term that ended in 2002.
Jim Snyder, Secretary
Secretary Snyder moved to the Allendale area of Arvada in 1973 where he and his wife raised two daughters who graduated from Arvada West.
Secretary Snyder retired after 31 years as a Firefighter with the Denver Fire Department. He has been an active member of King of Glory Lutheran Church since 1975, serving in various positions. He has been the Medical coordinator for the 9 Health Fair in South Jefferson County, starting as a worker at a health fair at Peace Lutheran in the early 1990's. He currently works for Fire and Police Protective Association Insurance.
Secretary Snyder feel’s that with his background in the Fire Service, his ability to work well with people and his willingness to give back to a community that has given so much to me makes him a very qualified candidate for this position.
Ted Terranova, Treasurer
Treasurer Terranova and his wife Judy have 2 children and 5 grandchildren. He has lived in Arvada for 39 of his 54 years.
Mr. Terranova served on the Arvada City Council from 1989 -1993, the Arvada Planning Commission from 1988-1989 and the Arvada Urban Renewal Board from 1990-1993. He was President of the Arvada Chamber of Commerce in 1989.
Mr. Terranova has been the owner of a local heating, air conditioning, electrical and plumbing business for 24 years and is a member of the Arvada/Jefferson Kiwanis.
Matt Kramer, Jr. Assistant Secretary/Treasurer
Director Kramer is an Arvada native who, with his wife of 27 years, Julie, has raised a son and two daughters. His oldest daughter just graduated from the Colorado School of Mines. His son is a Midshipman at the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland. His youngest daughter is currently attending Ralston Valley High School.
Director Kramer is a retired Arvada volunteer firefighter with 18 years of service. His firefighting career spanned positions from firefighter to nine years as Assistant Chief, including several years as Training Chief. As his father is also a retired Arvada firefighter, Director Kramer has been associated with the Arvada Fire Department for 50 of his 51 years.
This is Director Kramer’s first term on the Arvada Fire Protection District Board.
