Station 8 is located at 6385 Quaker Street and primarily serves the west side of the fire district. Funds to construct the station were voter approved in 2005, with the station being placed into service in 2008.
Station 8 houses Engine 8, Brush 8, and Boat 8. This allows personnel to respond not only to motor vehicle accidents and structure fires, but also to emergencies on our local reservoirs and lakes. Our firefighters also are trained to fight fires in the urban interface and forest areas and are ready to respond nationally to assist with fire suppression efforts on large federally managed fires.
All Station 8 firefighters hold an EMT-B certification at a minimum and each crew is also staffed with a paramedic. This allows us to carry advanced life support equipment and provide the highest level of pre-hospital emergency medical treatment.
