Station 3
7300 Kipling Street

The site Station #3 was purchased November 10, 1956.
Station #3 is a single-story brick structure, with a truck bay large enough for two pieces of apparatus. This station was constructed in 1962 and placed into operation that same year and houses Engine 3 and SCAT 3. Station 3 has 3 bedrooms, an office with a bed in it, a fitness area, a kitchen, and a day room. It is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week by at least 3 fire fighters. It is home to 9 career fire fighters, 2 who are lieutenants, and 1 who is a captain, as well as several active, enthusiastic volunteers.
Station 3 is one of only two stations to house a SCAT truck. The SCAT truck is a specialized piece of equipment that holds 90 spare SCBA (self contained breathing apparatus) bottles as well as a large generator, lots of lights, battery powered smoke ejector fan, and supplies to help keep the fire fighters as comfortable as possible and hydrated during a large incident.
In addition to responding to all emergency fire or EMS calls in their primary response area the dedicated members of Station 7 are responsible to respond as a Rapid Intervention Team during fire incidents. A Rapid Intervention Team (RIT) is established on a scene and available in the event that a member of the fire attack teams become lost, trapped, or injured on the fire ground. If a fire fighter is in need of assistance the RIT responds quickly and aggressively with specialized equipment to ensure that the fire fighter is evacuated and gets the medical help they need.
Station 3 is a proud member of the community and the Arvada Fire Protection District.
